15th Didcot Scouts win the raft race at Aqua Camp 2007 - 26-09-2007

250 Scouts, from across Oxfordshire, had a wet weekend of fun at Linch Hill Leisure Park, Standlake on the 15th -17th June.

Alan Leader, 15th Didcot Scout Leader, said: “Aqua Camp is a very popular annual event and this is the first year we have managed to get places. Our Scouts had a fantastic time. They spent Saturday trying out loads of different water sports from sailing and rafting to kayaking, canoeing and gig-pulling. They played kayak polo and learnt how to capsize safely. After a good nights sleep, under canvas, they couldn’t wait to get wet all over again on Sunday!

Most of our group do not participate in water based activities, on a regular basis, so they were thrilled when they won the raft race especially as the Sea Scouts were also competing!”

Emma Chedzey (12), 15th Didcot Scout, said: “I loved Aqua Camp, it was wet and fun and I really want to go again.”
