Cubs

Cubs have loads of fun, badge work is only the start of it, we have competitions with other Cubs in Didcot, we visit places of interest, and go for days out - then there’s camping.

Oohh! Nasty! By Douglas
Douglas aged 10 at a Football tournament at Cubs was badly Injured in the wrist after a bad tackle.

His Dad picked him up and took him to The JR in Oxford. Douglas left at 6.30pm after being there 6 hours. It turned out to be only bruised.

Didcot Cubs go WILD at Legoland By Claire
At Legoland we all had fun and we went on a lot of rides. We went on the Spinning Spider ride and they could not stop laughing. I said to myself, “I don’t want to go on that again!” Then we went onto a Dragon Roller Coaster, I went on it twice, so did Jake. On the notice board it said, not to put your arms and legs out, Jake and me put our arms out! Luckily they did not catch us on camera!

We were going to go on the new ride but the queue was too long. We went on the Log Flume, I was at the front of the boat, I got soaked. I had a great time!

Pre –historic cub camp By Ned
The Theme was Stone age People. After supper we did an activity called “Dinosaurs, Dinosaurs everywhere” Then we had cocoa and went to bed. We stayed up until 10pm!
In the morning we had Bacon Butties and toast. After that we played “hunt the woolly Mammoth” which is where you follow trails of red wool, when you come to the end there’ll be a woolly mammoth. Inside it were dried peas which we used as Stone age money to spend on sweets.

After that we collected wood to build our own fires. Then we went inside and made some ‘Flintstone’ muffins and different types of dinosaur biscuits.

Then we had lunch of soup and Hot dogs with crisps and fruit. Then we had quiet time, we were told off during it!

We went back outside and played some wide games, and then when it started to get dark, we went into the classroom and made dinosaurs out of newspaper, sticks and plaster of paris. Me and Adam made a T rex.

We had chips and Turkey Dinosaurs and beans for tea.

Then we had a Camp fire and sang some songs, we burnt the woolly mammoth on the Camp fire. We then watched “Inspector Gadget” and had some Popcorn and then went to bed.

On Sunday we had a breakfast of bacon and eggy bread. Then we had inspection. We made some wooden Dinosaurs from kits. Lunch was Spaghetti Bolognaise and Ice-cream. Then we went orienteering (but I feel over and cut my hand) then it was time to go home.

Camping on the Planet Zorg!
For our camp this Summer we blasted into outer space and camped on the Planet Zorg, a good time was had by all despite the down-pours!

When I went to camp we set up our tents, then we put in our sleeping bags, then we went to get some wood for the fire.

On Saturday we built rockets and flying saucers, then we went swimming in Abingdon. When we got back we had Spaghetti Bolognaise then we set up a bonfire. Then we went in our tents because it was raining.

At Space camp we made rockets and U.F.O’s. On Sunday we made our own lunch. We sang around the Camp-fire.

We had a terrible time at camp because it kept raining, but we had a good part to it too. We went to the Space Pool for a swim, we built some rockets and flying saucers and we flew them into outer space! Then we packed up and went home before the visiting Space-men and Invaders came!
